Anderson Wet Extruders – VOX

The Anderson VOX Expander accepts flaked oilseeds or press cakes via continuous feed and mechanically works them within the barrel. The design of the shaft and barrel, in conjunction with controllable steam injection, provides the necessary shear, temperature, and moisture to increase the availability of free oil and restructure the material into strong porous collets. Due to the high shaft speed and discontinuous worm design, the material is quickly brought to process temperature conditions. The total residence time within the barrel is less than twenty seconds, with the material at maximum temperature for only a few seconds.
