Vertical Coolers – Ferrell Ross

The Ferrell Ross RC Flake, Cake and Pellet Coolers are designed for continuous flow cooling with eccentric driven baffles that prevent product bridging. A level sensor at the top of the cooler inlet activates the baffle and rotary discharge drive. Air flow is created by the blower and regulated via the by-pass valve to fine tune CFM. Inspection and clean out doors are included in the fan hood assembly. Applications: Feed Manufacturing, Cereal/Grains Steam Flaking and Oilseeds.

Horizontal Coolers – Anderson

The Anderson Rotary Cooler easily handles up to 65 Metric Tons per day of pressed Expeller® cake at 98 degrees C and 8-10% moisture, and cools it to safe storage conditions. The Cooler is manufactured with pan and cover of stainless steel to protect against corrosive vapors. The rotating paddles are made of carbon steel, driven by an efficient 5 HP motor to gently fluff the Expeller cake through an air stream. The inlet ducts draw plant air down into the Expeller cake and then upwards producing intimate contact between the hot cake and cooling air stream. Anderson specifies the use of a fan and cyclone capable of pulling 1200 cfm of air using only a 5HP motor.

Counterflow Coolers – Geelen

This cooler is designed to operate with a fluidized bed. It is used when product beds of meal type products are so dense that they will not let air pass through unless the bed is fluidized. The use of the fluidization principle means that almost every component needs to be changed compared to a normal counterflow cooler. Inlet valve, hood, product distributor, bin walls, discharge systems, product sensors, hopper, air fan, ducting, control system; all need to be customized to make a counterflow cooler suitable for meal cooling. In standard execution, the meal cooler consists of two cooling decks above each other.

Counterflow Coolers – Bliss

The Opposite Flow or Counterflow process is the refined technology of exposing processed product to an upward moving stream of ambient airflow. As the air rises through the product, it is warmed, increasing the moisture carrying capability of the air. The product just entering at the top of the cooling chamber is exposed to the warmest air available within the cooler minimizing temperature shock. The product exiting the bottom of the unit is cooled to within 5-10° of the ambient air temperature. The product and air have “opposite flows”. The gradual heat transfer greatly enhances the product quality and reduces stressing and fines. The circular design enables product to be evenly distributed throughout the unit, increasing cooling uniformity and the round design eliminates all poorly filled corners. Counterflow Dryer – Geelen

The hydraulically driven discharge system drops the entire batch down to the subsequent deck after a pre-set period of time and only after that subsequent deck has first dropped its batch, such that no cross contamination can occur. In a batch dryer every product batch is treated individually with separate drying zones per drying deck. The amount of evaporation can be set per deck through variation of drying air volume and temperature.

Dryer exhaust air is recirculated back into the heater for maximum energy efficiency and only a limited volume of air is exhausted, at a high relative humidity.

Tower Dryer – GSI

The tower dryer design utilizes industry proven drying principles along with many unique features to provide the commercial user with a simple, reliable, fuel efficient grain dryer.
